How to boost your chances of getting that flight Attendant Job in Nigeria (1)

Today, there are millions of Nigerians out there, who are jostling for the very few flight Attendant jobs available. If you are amongst them, how do you stand out? Here is the checklist.
1. IF YOU ARE TRAINED AND LICENSED
Due to the ever increasing cost of running Airlines, most Operators are now looking at ways of minimizing cost. Do you know, it takes a longer period of time and cost more money to train a flight attendant from the scratch? Now imagine if  these Airlines are faced with the option of choosing between an already trained and licensed Crew and a yet to be trained one during recruitment, they’ll naturally opt for the trained and licensed applicant. Well, the good news is;  there are some reputable Aviation training  organisations in Nigeria, certified by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority where you can train. So why not give your self that edge by going the extra mile of getting trained and licensed?
2. UNDER THE AGE OF 30
Sadly, most Airlines are gradually reducing their maximum age requirement to hire Flight attendants, irrespective of previous flying experience. This is not to say you do not stand a chance if you are above the age of 30, however, your chances are far greater if you are under the age of 30. So If you intend to pursue a career in the Aviation industry as a flight Attendant, i would recommend that the earlier you start, the better.
3, IF YOU ARE A GRADUATE
Whilst some Airlines may hire you irrespective of your academic qualifications, most Airlines would rarely consider you if you are not a university graduate with proof of graduation and successful completion of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps.
4. IF YOU ARE ATTRACTIVE
Truth is ; these Airlines may not necessarily require you to be a beauty queen or a handsome prince, nonetheless, a combination of intelligence and attractiveness will make you more appealing to the recruiters.
5. APPROPRIATE WEIGHT

Weight requirement vary from Airline to Airline. However, being slim, naturally increases your chances of being hired by Airlines. Most especially for the females, whose dress size they’ll would rather prefer to be between the sizes of 8-12.
Please note: This is not a general requirement in all Airlines. I recall in my former Airline, there was no discriminatory rule as to size, however, they were clear about flight attendants maintaining and retaining the weight they were hired.
