This is an exciting job opportunity for a candidate with the required skills who wishes to join Africa World Airlines. The Captain’s task is to operate the aircraft in a safe and economical manner. The position reports directly to the Chief Pilot.

CAPTAIN/PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC)

Job Purpose: The Captain has the overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft and the safety of passengers and crew throughout the period of command. The position reports directly to the Chief Pilot

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities · Be responsible for the safe operation of the aeroplane and safety of its occupants and cargo during flight ; · Have authority to give all commands he deems necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of the aeroplane and of persons or property carried therein, and all persons carried in the aeroplane shall obey such commands; · Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with the Company’s Operations Manuals; · Ensure that the weather forecast and reports for the proposed operating area and flight duration indicate that the flight may be conducted without infringing company operating minima; · Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aeroplane, and any required equipment is serviceable and that relevant emergency equipment is serviceable and ready for use; · Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aeroplane mass and balance is within the calculated limits for the operating conditions; · Ensure completion of all pertinent records of the flight and ensuring the compliance of checklists; · Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the rules, laws and regulations where flights are conducted; · Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Africa World Airlines at all times

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) · Ability to understanding technical detail · Strong aptitude for mathematics anmd etal calculation · Good eye – hand co-ordination to handle then aircraft skilfully · Ability to think quickly and make quick decisions and work calmly under pressure Ability to give clear, confident instructions to crew members and passengers · Ability to inspire confidence in both passengers and crew · Flexibility in working hours · Physically fit with excellent vision, including normal colour vision · Self-motivation and the determination to succeed · High degree of discipline and teamwork is an essential element of the job

Qualification & Experience · A minimum of 3000 hours total flying time including 1000 hours PIC and at least 2000 hours flying multi-crew turbo-prop or jet aircraft. · Valid ICAO ATPL with EMB145 type-rating or Valid ICAO ATPL · Valid passport · Valid/current Medical Certificate (Class one) · No history of incidents/accidents · Must provide a letter from your current/previous employer or CAA · Minimum ICAO Level 4 English proficiency · No criminal history. · Must provide a notarized and authenticated proof of no criminal history document from your home country (Non-Ghanaians)
