Two Virgin flight attendants hospitalised, one with broken leg, after flight turbulence into Adelaide

Two Virgin flight attendants have been hospitalised, one with a broken leg, after a Melbourne to Adelaide flight experienced severe turbulence.

Flight VA233 departed Melbourne at 4.30pm on Wednesday and hit unexpected turbulence on its descent into Adelaide.

“We can confirm that unfortunately two of our cabin crew were injured and are receiving medical attention,” Virgin Australia said.

“The safety of our guests and crew is always our number one priority and the aircraft is now being inspected by our engineers before it can be cleared to return to service.”

One of the flight attendants was hospitalised with a broken leg and the other suffered unknown injuries. There was one male flight attendant and one female.

None of the passengers were injured and the flight landed in Adelaide at 5.15pm.
