AN UNEXPECTED passenger arrived mid-air on a Turkish Airlines flight after a woman went into labour shortly after the plane took off.
The flight, which set off from Conakry, Guinea, was heading towards Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, when Nafi Diaby began to give birth on Friday.

The cabin crew and passengers began helping the woman, who had been pregnant for 28 weeks.
Following a successful birth, airline workers posed for pictures with the baby – including the captain – all beaming with smiles.
Bouthayna Inanır, one of the flight attendants who helped with the birth, said: “The mother gave birth while standing, and we received help from several other passengers.”

An ambulance picked up the mother and newborn baby girl at the airport upon landing and took them to hospital to be observed by medics.
The baby was named Kadiju.
