Outrage As FAAN Increases Airport Access Gate Fees By 100%

MOTORISTS are outraged by the sudden increase of airport toll fees by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) by 100%. According to investigations by Naija Magazine Online, FAAN is under pressure to increase its internally generated revenue (IGR). An easy avenue to do this is to tax hapless motorists. Sadly, roads leading to many Nigerian airports, including the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, are in terrible state. There are also concerns about the high propensity for corruption at these airport toll gates, though the government is trying to automate the process.

Will motorists challenge this arbitrary increase in fees, or will they ‘leave it to God’ as with most issues negatively impacting Nigerians? Time will tell.
