Another mile stone was achieved in boosting safety in the Aviation industry yesterday as Bristow Helicopters launched the first of its kind Recovery and Rescue and Services in Nigeria.
The state-of-the -art search and rescue equipped AW139 Helicopters are manned by Bristow renowned flight and technical crew and supported by Bristow trained operations staff. Bristow Nigeria is the first company to operate the AW139 Helicopter in a search and rescue role in Africa.


This move will relieve and ease the cumbersome challenges experienced during any aircraft crash landing in the area of search and rescue. It puts safety first with Life saving Capabilities like;
* Search (day and night)
* Homing (PLB, ELT)
* Communications (VHF, FM and Satellite)
* Open water Winching
* Poor Weather – (FLIR, Radar and standard instrument approaches)
* Air Droppable Life Raft (HARK).
Dignitaries were in attendance and present also is the NCAA Staff and other related organisations.
