The Federal Government in Nigeria has again reaffirmed its determination to develop critical infrastructure in the aviation industry that will guarantee the safety of all air travellers.

Addressing aviation players on the occasion of the 2016 Aviation Day in Abuja on Monday, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Mr Sabiu Zakari, said the Federal Government was putting measures in place to mitigate the impact of foreign exchange remittance.

Mr Zakari told the gathering that the government was also working to ensure availability of aviation fuel, address high cost of aircraft maintenance and shortage of management manpower.

Also in his speech at the occasion, an aviation entrepreneur, Olatayo Ajiboye, advised the Federal Government to make the safety of Nigeria’s airspace a top priority in addition to providing the necessary infrastructure.
