It is no longer news that One of the big player in the Airline sector in Naija is going through stormy times… But the latest gist is that the Airline is struggling hard to stay afloat and can no longer cope. From 11 airplanes to 4. The airline is operating at a great loss right now. And it is becoming realistically imposible to sustain operations with the current number of staff in tandem with the number of serviceable machines…
Except the airline gets emergency injection of fund to turn around the situation at hand, I hear the airline is looking at the option of having a reduction in work force.
Sadly, being put in the position of having to lay people off is not pleasant for any organisation. But when faced with overwhelming financial challenges, downsizing and cost cutting becomes the options if they must survive.
Sad situation i must state here.
Well if you are a staff, shine your eyes…start putting plan B and C in place…whilst the criteria to be used for downsizing is been worked out. Dont be caught napping…it can happen to anybody.
Na wah for aviation in Nigeria sha. So unstable. Now more aviators will be thrown into the already saturated unemployment market. God help this industry.
