FAAN assures on Port Harcourt Airport’s completion

Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Saleh Dunoma, has assured that the ongoing construction of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt, would be completed soon. Dunoma told aviation correspondents in his office at Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Lagos, that work on the airport was going according to plan. He also said construction works in other airports, especially the five new terminals being co-sponsored by the Chinese government in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Kano were being fast-tracked, assuring that the terminals would be completed by end of this year. Dunoma advised passengers to bear with FAAN as a result of the inconvenience being encountered due to work on the Port Harcourt site, adding that they would soon start enjoying its services. The FAAN boss said the management was making efforts at ensuring that airports were secured and safe for passengers, declaring that the organisation was ready for the audit. It would be recalled that during the visit of the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, contractors handling the construction of the five new terminals assured the government that the airport would be put into use before the close of the year. The new terminals were part of the agreement the Federal Government had with Chinese Government in 2012 for the construction of airports.
