Meet Engr. Paulina Ogbaji, project coordinator in Aero MRO.
Please introduce yourself, your name, where you are from and current position in your organisation.
My name is Paulina Ogbaji, I am from Bekwarra local government. in Cross River state. Currently, i am one of the project coordinators in Aero MRO.
What inspired you to venture into this once male dominated Career.
My inspiration is the passion I have for the industry, growing up as a child around the airport seeing aircraft, I have always dream of working directly on the aircraft.
Give us a brief career history. What schools did you attend?
I attended Nigerian College of Aviation Technology were i graduated with Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and basic license in TB9. After school i was employed by Virgin Nigeria Airways in Jan. 2008 and by Nov. 2008 I joined Aero Contractor where i have worked till date. I got my B737 classic endorsement in 2009 and since then I have been working as a certifying engineer.
How long have you been in the industry?
12 years.
What is your lowest moment in your Career history?
My lowest moment was when I was moved to Maintenance Operations Control.
What is your most memorable moment?
My most memorable moment was the day I lead a team for Engine change on B737 classic.
How have you been able to balance your work life and family?
I try to spend as much time as I can with my family and when it comes to work, i give my best to it. Though it has not been easy, but I have a very understanding husband and children.
What advice do you have for the aspiring young women out there who may want to tow your line?
There is no such thing as ‘women are a weaker vessel’ it is a thing of the mind. You are stronger than you think, just believe in yourself.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years I see myself as a CEO of an airline.
