Turkish Airlines reached the highest Load Factor in the first five months, with 80.7% LF.

Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to more destinations than any other airline, has recently announced the results of its passenger and cargo traffic in May, in which it achieved the highest first five-month load factor (LF) in its history with 80.7%. The national flag carrier maintains its position on the global aviation agenda with the high Load Factor performances it has reached especially in recent periods.

 According to the May 2018 Traffic results; total number of passengers carried went up by 4%, reaching 6.1 million passengers, and Load Factor stood at %78.6, International Load Factor increased by 1.7 points to 78% while domestic Load Factor stood at 83%.

Also in May, cargo/mail volume continued the double digit growth trend and increased by 22%, compared to May 2017. Main contributors to the growth in cargo/mail volume, are domestic lines with 35% increase, Middle East with 31% increase, North America with 29% increase, Europe with 24% increase and Africa with 22% increase. North America, Africa and Far East showed load factor growth of 5 points, 3 points and 1 point, respectively.

According to the January-May 2018 Traffic Results; total number of passengers reached to 29.3 million. There was an increase in demand and total number of passengers as they went up 17% and 19%, respectively. During the period of January-May, total Load Factor improved by approximately 5 points up to 80.7%, recording the highest load factor in Turkish Airlines history for the first five months. While international Load Factor increased by 5 points up to 80%, domestic load factor went up by 2 points to 85%. Cargo/mail carried during the first five months increased by 30% and reached 545 thousand tons, thanks to strong pick up in cargo/mail volume in May of 2018.
