The cabin of the royal event hall was lit on Wednesday as the first annual Cabin Crew fair flight Mj001 took off.
It was an impressive turnout by Veteran Cabin Crew who have spent forty years and above in the industry, Cabin Crew from various Airlines, aspiring cabin crew and aviation staffs. The regulatory Authority, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority was well represented.
The theme was, “Let your dreams take flight!” The objectives of the Fair was:
- To highlight the valuable and strategic role of Cabin Crew in the Aviation Industry in Nigeria
- To recognize and present award of excellence to Cabin Crew Veterans
- To create a platform for Professional and Aspiring Cabin Crew to connect and Share Knowledge
- To introduce aspiring Cabin Crew to their career choice and help them identify the key skills required
- Enlist aspiring participants into mamajsaviationblog’s Cabin Crew recruitment Database
- Mentoring on Career Path
Cabin Crew from Dana Air, Air Peace, Arik Air, First Nation, Aero and their respective Cabin Services managers were at the fair.
Sponsors of the events were Dana Air, Rwandair, Adron Properties Limited. Event Partners were, Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Javi Aviation, Crew training Institute, TK signatures and Bon Voyage Travels.
The Chairman of the occasion and Special keynote speaker was Mr. Yemi Dada, former Md of IRS Airlines. Special guests; Captain Sidi Abdullahi
who was unavoidably absent, but was represented by Capt. Frank Wosu. Captain Abdusalam Mohammed, the rector of NCAT, who was represented by his technical adviser, Mr. Waheed Disu. HR Thought Leader, Mr. Victor Banjo. Rev. Esosa Ize- Iyamu, the General Overseer of Jesus Evangelical Assembly. Others were Chima Kingsley, station manager of Africa World Airlines and Issac Nagu, member, presidential committee on the national Carrier.

Toni Ukachukwu, publisher, Aviators Africa. Joan Obasi, Cabin crew turned pilot at Arik Air. Keghtor Jika, cabin crew turned pilot now at Medview Airlines and Bernice Kunbi Leshi, the safety manager of Xejet, who was unavoidably absent.
The platform created the opportunity for speakers to highlight the strategic role of Cabin Crew which is primarily SAFETY. illuminate the challenges of the profession and mentor aspiring Cabin Crew on their Choice of career, whilst making them aware of the prospects of career progression from cabin to cockpit.
The fair ended with Excellence Cabin Awards presented to Veterans who have contributed immensely to the growth of the profession. The speakers were also presented awards for their contribution to capacity development in aviation.
The Veteran Award Recipients were: Sarah Owie, Mary Awoniyi, Sidikat Bernard, Lami Vasira, Austin Salihu, Kunle Martins, Bose Tagarino, Martins Okonkwo, John Agwo, Grace Boyin Famous-Cole, Paul Ogwuru and John Akpan.
Certificate of participation were also presented to aspiring cabin Crew.
