A Turkish Airlines flight, which was bound to go to London, had to make an emergency landing at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade. The flight took off from Istanbul airport on 26th May, 2016.

After the Boeing 777 flew from Istanbul, one of the air hostesses found an unattended mobile phone in the toilet. As per procedures, the air hostess made an announcement about the mobile phone that was found in the toilet, but none of the passengers claimed it. When it was found to be unclaimed, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing.

All the 300 passengers and the crew members were evacuated after the flight landed. The Boeing was searched thoroughly but no explosives were found on board. It was later concluded that the mobile belongs to a previous passenger and he/she might have forgotten it in the bathroom stall.

Because of the numerous recent accidents and incidents, the aviation industry is being very cautious nowadays regarding the safety of the passengers and crew.
