Incident: American A321 near Las Vegas on Jan 12th 2016, smoke in cockpit

An American Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N109NN performing flight AA-256 from Los Angeles,CA to New York JFK,NY (USA) with 81 passengers and 8 crew, was climbing out of Los Angeles when the crew stopped the climb at FL270, continuing at FL270 for another 25 minutes before reporting smoke on the flight deck and deciding to divert to Las Vegas. The aircraft landed safely on Las Vegas’ runway 25L about one hour after departure from Los Angeles.

The occurrence aircraft was able to continue the flight the following morning after about 16 hours on the ground and reached New York with a delay of about 17.5 hours.
