1. Distance

The first thing you need to identify before buying a plane is what kind of distances you’re going to cover? Is it to shoot off nearby on a weekend getaway or are planning to fly half way around the world? You need to identify the type of travel your jet will be put through; whether it’s going to be long-range, medium-range or for short trips.

2. Use

The second thing is to identify what you’ll be using it for? Is it for private travel or business travel or a mix of both? This will help you decide what kind of facilities you require while on board and this can make a huge difference in your budget.

3. Capacity

How many people will be using your jet? Is it for yourself or will you use it for family and friends too? Are you buying it for your company so the executive from the firm can use it? What number of people are going to possibly travel on your plane at once?

4. Frequency of travel

You should have a rough idea of how many times per month or year you will be travelling and then calculate the number of hours in a year your aircraft will be in use. This will help you make the right choice for the engines.

5. Your budget

Last, but also one of the most important factors is your budget. You should know what your budget it before you decide to invest because there is a vast range of options open to you from US $2 million private jets to $300 million Boing 747s.
