Inspiring…Siza Mzimela Becomes First Black Woman To Own An Airline

A South African businesswoman has made history by becoming the first Black woman to own an airline.

#SizaMzimela is the founder and CEO of #FlyBlueCrane, which began operating from OR Tambo International Airport in #Johannesburg on September 1, and the first woman appointed to the International Air Transport Association’s Board of Directors in 67 years.

According to Mzimela’s LinkedIn profile, Fly Blue Crane promises to offer customers a “much needed alternative air travel option to various business and leisure destinations within the Southern African region. ”

She is also the founder and Executive Chairperson of Blue Crane Aviation, an aviation services company with “specific focus on African airlines,” which provides airlines and aviation businesses with specialist airline consulting, aviation legal services, and aircraft management services.

According to Fly Blue Crane’s media release, during its launch phase, the airline will operate a 50-seater Embraer Regional Jet 145 (#ERJ) in a single class configuration, allowing for quick aircraft turnaround times and maximum crew synergies. #ballerificwomen
